“EMEX” SILICATE DECORATIVE PLASTER

Description

     The “Emex” silicate decorative plaster is a professional product, based on potasium silicate, pigments and additives, with addition of quartz and marble grains intended for superior decorative finishing plasters, with striated, matted final aspect. It is used most commonly in restoration of buildings and monuments.. It has an exceptional adherence, high resistance and does not allow dirt to adhere to the support. . It contains last generation ecologic biocides, with great resistance to fungi and molds. It is fabricated in any shade according to the NCS color card, or it can be colored with coloring paste.

Utilization Domains

     The “Emex” silicate decorative plaster is most commonly used for restoration of buildings and monuments but it is also used for protection and covering with a scratched texture of exterior surfaces of civil and industrial buildings, new or old.

Although it is a product with very good features, it has the disadvantage of a very restrictive application. Thus it is not recommended to apply the silicate plaster on the following types of support: gypsum board, gypsum or lime plaster, old paint layers rich in resin, synthetic materials and resins, acrylic paints, glue or casein paints, varnishes, oil paints, soft and elastic surfaces.

     The product can be used with very good results for covering the surfaces of concrete, masonry, cement plaster, old compact and resistant plasters, cement mineral plaster, absorbent mineral conglomerates of any type, old mineral paintings, dry, compact and absorbent paintings.

     The surfaces will be mandatory primed with Silicate Base coat for priming for “Emex” plasters, which has a complementary role to create anchor points for increasing the adhesion of this plaster to the support. Prior to application there will be compatibility tests on the support.

     In case of areas affected by mold or fungi, they will be previously treated with Forte “Emex” sanitizer.

     It will also be applied a first layer of “Emex” exterior silicate emulsion paint, as background layer.
